Bears in Romania Guide is the independent editorial project behind this website. We research tours on Viator, read recent traveller reviews and keep our guides to bear watching, castles and Romania’s regions up to date, so you can choose and book with confidence.
How we choose the tours we recommend
We compare tours available on Viator and only list those that meet our criteria:
- Traveller feedback: consistently strong recent reviews.
- Flexibility: free cancellation, ideally up to 24 hours before the start.
- Group size and guiding: small groups and licensed, knowledgeable guides.
- Responsible wildlife practices: bear tours that keep visitors in hides, at a respectful distance, with clear rules.
- Value: a fair price for what is included.
We review the selection regularly and remove tours whose quality drops.
